A video template API analyses a finished video and extracts its structure, such as sections, timing, text slots, media slots, and transitions, and returns it as a reusable template that software can fill with new content.
This is the planned API design. Video Context is in private beta, and beta partners help set the final design of each endpoint.
Structure is the part that works
When an ad or a short performs well, the footage is rarely the reason. The reason is the structure: a hook in the first three seconds, a demo at the right pace, a clear call to action.
Video Context extracts that structure and gives it back to you as a template.
What a template holds
Sections with a role, such as hook, demo, proof, or call to action.
Timing for each section and each cut.
Slots for text, footage, logos, and music.
Transitions between sections.
Fill it with anything
Send the template to your editor, or let an agent fill the slots with new footage and copy. See style transfer to copy the look as well as the structure.
✦ FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about templates with Video Context.
What is a video template?+
A video template is the structure of a video without its specific content. It lists sections, timing, and slots for text and media, so you can make a new video with the same shape.
Can I turn a competitor's ad into a template?+
You can extract the structure of any video that you have the right to analyse. The template holds timing and roles, not the original footage.
